Two of Arsenal’s most important players have opened up about why they chose to move to the Emirates stadium.

Mesut Ozil joined the Gunners in the summer of 2013 from Real Madrid in a deal which saw him become the most expensive player in the club’s history.

And a year later, Alexis Sanchez arrived from Barcelona after a string of inspiring displays at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

The two stars now have just over a year remaining on their contracts, prompting rumours that this could be their final year at the Emirates stadium.

However, in a new interview, Ozil spoke highly of Arsenal, amid rumours that he is seeking a move elsewhere.

“I know they played very good football, attractive football,” Ozil was quoted as saying by the Daily Star

“I knew this club played very good football, and not just for one year, for many years.”

And for Sanchez, who has scored 21 goals in all competitions this season, the words were similar to Ozil’s.

“What brought me here to Arsenal was that it’s a big club.” the Chliean international said

“It’s time that we made history at this club.

“Arsenal’s football attracted me because they like to have the ball when they play.”
