Emerging reports are indicating that Arsene Wenger is prepared to make a couple of big changes to his starting line-up for the clash with Swansea City.

The Gunners host Francesco Guidolin side on Wednesday knowing that any more dropped points could severely damage their hopes of winning a first league title in over a decade.

Wenger’s major decisions on Sunday backfired as Gabriel, in on Per Mertesacker, conceded two goals in two minutes to Manchester United’s 18-year-old Marcus Rushford before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s replacement Theo Walcott was withdrawn after only an hour.

According to various reports, Mertesacker is set to start on Wednesday while Joel Campbell and Alex Iwobi are being considered for a spot on the right wing.

Wenger’s shuffling at centre-back for the Swansea City match will see Gabriel return to the bench after the Brazilian recovered from a thigh problem only to produce a below-par display at Old Trafford.

The Mirror are also claiming Alexis Sanchez could soon be handed a rest during Arsenal’s run-in to the season as the Chile international attempts to rediscover his form in front of goal.

With Arsenal facing a busy schedule in March, Wenger is likely to rotate his options as Mohammed Elneny awaits his first ever start in the Premier League.

Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are the only players the Arsenal boss will not be able to call upon.
