Arsenal boss Unai Emery was questioned about the current situation regarding star midfielder Aaron Ramsey after the 5-1 win over Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday.
The new Arsenal manager has watched his side improve their form significantly over the past couple of months after beginning the season with consecutive defeats against Premier League title rivals Manchester City and Chelsea.
Even though Emery has been delighted to guide his side to nine straight wins in all competitions, the uncertain future of key midfielder Aaron Ramsey has also dominated the headlines.
Indeed, Arsenal appear to have been left in a situation very similar to the one which saw Alexis Sanchez leave the club during the January transfer window earlier this year.
After watching Ramsey show his quality on Sunday as he scored a brilliant goal against Fulham, Emery was asked about where the midfielder’s contract situation is now going.
And the Gunners boss used that as an opportunity to heap praise on the 27-year-old.
“For me it’s very important for him to take in confidence and take the first goal today. He’s a very important player.” the new Arsenal manager said after the game on Sunday
“And for us today he was not starting in the first XI but today he takes confidence and, for us, he’s helping the team.”
