Update on Arsenal’s move to sign 25-year-old as deal takes wrong turn
The Gunners’ move to sign a new attacking midfielder from La Liga appears to have taken a sudden turn in the wrong direction, according to reports coming from Spain.
Arsenal are known to be searching for new midfielders as the club gets ready to say goodbye to Aaron Ramsey, one of the longest-serving players in the current squad.
Denis Suarez has been deemed as a player who is bound for Arsenal over the past couple of weeks.
However, according to Mundo Deportivo, the Gunners have been unable to reach an agreement with Barcelona over a deal for the midfielder.
The Spanish club have rejected Arsenal’s proposal of a £1.7m loan fee for Suarez.
The two clubs could also not agree on Arsenal’s inclusion of a clause which would require them to permanently sign the midfielder at the end of the season.
The Gunners have insisted that only loan deals can be afforded this month and Barcelona, who are interested in selling Suarez for a profitable price in the summer are not willing to let him join Arsenal on loan for now.
