There has been an update on the condition of key defender Nacho Monreal ahead of the big clash with Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday.

New Arsenal boss Unai Emery has so far witnessed his side put together a staggering 18-game unbeaten streak in response to the defeats which came against Manchester City and Chelsea at the very start of the 2018/19 season.

One man who has played a part in the unbeaten run is Nacho Monreal, even though the defender has recently been struggling with more injury problems.

The Spaniard’s absence has left the Gunners in a desperate situation with Granit Xhaka having to fill in at left back prior to the return of Sead Kolasinac.

Ahead of the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, many fans have been wondering whether Monreal will be able to make a comeback after spending a couple of weeks out of action.

However, an update from the club has revealed that the Spanish veteran will still need a few weeks to complete his recovery.

“Right hamstring. Expected to return to full training in two weeks.” an injury update from the club’s official website stated.
