The Gunners have released information regarding the condition for Sokratis Papastathopoulos ahead of the clash with Brentford in the League Cup at the Emirates stadium.
Unai Emery has seen his side secure four straight victories in the Premier League, five wins in a row in all competitions, after Sunday’s 2-0 victory over a tough Everton outfit at the Emirates stadium.
The clash with the Toffees saw new signing Sokratis Papastathopoulos limp off with what looked like a concerning injury blow as he was replaced by Rob Holding.
Arsenal went on to keep their first clean sheet of the season in the absence of Sokratis but the fitness of the Greek defender has remained a concern for Emery.
Ahead of the clash with Brentford, the club has confirmed that Sokratis’ injury might not be too serious and he is in fact set to undergo a fitness test before the League Cup fixture.
“Now back in full training following left knee injury.” an official update from Arsenal said
The former Borussia Dortmund star has been partnered up with Shkodran Mustafi for most of the Gunners’ games so far this season.
