VIDEO: Chamakh and Koscielny in action in France
Following Wenger’s admission of an approach for Laurent Koscielny today, the 24-year-old’s move to Arsenal is now very likely.
Should Koscielny’s deal be completed, he will become Arsenal’s second acquisition from the French league this summer after Chamakh’s arrival just a month ago.
But the big question once they are announced as Gunners is: “what do they look like in action?”.
So, below are highlights of a clash between Lorient and Bordeaux in Ligue 1 last season where Arsenal-bound players on the pitch had an eventful night.
In this game:
Koscielny (wearing No. 4) scores
Koscielny gets sent off for a tangle with Chamakh
Chamakh scores
….and more (including possible target Yoann Gourcuff)
Chamakh….Good goal……BAD DIVE!!!
Not good defending from our new man
seriously ur comments are childish, do u guys really support arsenal? or is it just a conversation starter 4 u guys. Specially gooner 2, bad defending? lol. where was the bad defending?
Errr, the bad defending was from Koscielny defending in the build up to the Penalty.
He squared his hips and shoulders to the ball (40 secs) which is why Chamakh got in. To be fair he showed excellent fluidity in swivelling his hips (something Sol can’t do now if you watch him) and getting back at Chamakh after that but the initial defending was poor. The mistake was exacerbated by the fact the Defender on the other side of Chamakh seems entirely useless and does nothing. He could see the Chamakh and the ball but bizarrely decides to sprint somewhere rather than mark Chamakh but this still doesn’t excuse Koscielny’s body position.
The pen itself wasn’t that bad, the fact he got back in was good but the initial defending was poor.
Forget all this pointless talk above, has anyone actually noticed Koscielny is left-footed just like Vermaelen?
I would’ve preferred a right-footer like Gallas. Or maybe here’s the case of the centre-back replacements…
Gallas = Djourou
Silvestre = Koscielny
Now I wouldn’t mind that. Of course, the fact that Koscielny is left-footed means we have even more cover at left-back. Traore and Gibbs may be looking like this 🙁 right now haha
The guy is right footed.He used to play as a right-back. Don’t know where everyone is getting this information from, that he is left-footed
Look at it again, he is miles away from Chamakh, and when he does get to him it was obvious he was going to give a pen away,
To be fair,you cannot judge a player,or players from a three minute video. Fact is, both of them will be wearing the Arsenal jersey next season,and I for one am looking forward to it.
he looks tall and strong to me – laurent koscielny
Wenger should please buy more player dat are quality.
Actually Koscielny is right footed. Randy Osae, did you know even if your right footed you are aloud to score a goal with your left foot? Its a good thing if you can kick with both feet.
joe is going to man-hole….shit
i think gav gav is correct. Koscielny is rightfooted i believe. in fact i read somewhere the other day that Koscielny was originally a rightback
Sorry about J Cole, he have been good for us. They must have offerred more money. Thats the name of the game these days!!!! The two French will surely settle down when they are on the same great team. BUT how good are they?
Wenger is good at making less known players to soccer stars. To name a few, lets begin with Thierry Hendry after his transfer to The Arsenal from Juventus . I believe there will be more stars in the making..say… Chamakh or Koscielny?
