Arsenal youngster Emmanuel Frimpong has been improving his fitness after knee surgery by training at the club’s base at London Colney, but he is not alone.
It appears that the club has become stricter with its treatment of incompetent players this summer after Gervinho, Marouane Chamakh, Park Chu Young and Nicklas Bendtner were omitted from the 24-man squad currently enjoying a pre-season tour of Asia.
Gervinho’s omission was recorded as ‘due to sickness’ by Arsenal but the Ivorian – who has attracted interest from Roma and Marseille – is sitting out to sort out his future along with the likes of Chamakh and Park who were not allowed to even travel abroad with the club’s staff.
Chamakh – who is on Levante’s radar – was recently caught partying with close friend and former Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri while Park Chu Young is expecting news of being released by the Gunners.
