Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has criticized the team’s performance against Ostersund at home on Thursday night.
The Gunners were expected by many to wrap up the Europa League tie after winning 3-0 in the first leg last week.
However, a very disappointing display in the first 45 minutes of the game saw Arsenal concede two goals in quick-fashion to go 2-0 behind ahead of the break.
Sead Kolasinac did manage to score early in the second half to provide some relief for the home crowd but the goal was not enough to prevent an embarrassing defeat to heavy underdogs Ostersund.
And that has seen Jack Wilshere admit that the team’s performance at the Emirates stadium on Thursday was unacceptable.
“We were nowhere near it, especially in the first half,” the England international said
“We weren’t good enough. To be honest, we did improve in the second half but it still wasn’t good enough.
“We’re through and that’s all that counts, so we will see who we get in the draw. We’ve a big game to come on Sunday too, so we can focus on that.
“But when you’re 3-0 up in a two-legged tie you still have to go again – it was only half-time. Maybe we underestimated them a little bit, but the main thing is we’re through.”
