Fans react to Alexis Sanchez injury on Twitter
News about a fitness concern for star forward Alexis Sanchez has been greeted with a lot of emotional reactions from the Arsenal faithful.
Sanchez has been integral to Arsenal’s encouraging start to the 2016/17 season which has seen him score eight goals in all competitions, leaving him joint-top with Theo Walcott as the team’s current leading scorer.
The 27-year-old, who played for the entire match against Tottenham Hotspur, had to be withdrawn from a training session in Chile on Tuesday with what appeared to be a calf problem.
It remains unconfirmed whether Sanchez will now miss Arsenal’s next fixture against Manchester United which will follow the international break.
But the meltdown among fans on social media has already begun…
Both Alexis and Cazorla got long term injuries in November last year. It ruined our season. Let's hope history doesn't repeat.

I think we all knew Sanchez was going to get injured at some point, he isn't proper Arsenal If he didn't. #AFC

At an ordinary club, Sanchez would be out until Xmas. At Arsenal, we'll probs be lucky to see him again this season!

This Sanchez injury is going to wreck Arsenal's season. Watch us lose to United, then go on a meltdown and the WOB cretins find their voice
