Arsenal struggled to impress this weekend but that was certainly not the case for one of the club’s loan boys.
Despite having a relatively impressive 2015/16 season which saw him enjoy more first team opportunities than ever in his Arsenal career, Joel Campbell was sent out on loan by Arsene Wenger right before the summer transfer window closed.
The 24-year-old has played like a man with a point to prove ever since and his resurgent form continued this weekend for Sporting Lisbon.
After being named on the bench for the clash with Tondela, Campbell was introduced following 75 minutes of action as his side trailed 1-0 at home.
With only seconds left before the final whistle, the Costa Rica international pounced on a chance in the penalty box to score a vital equalizer before a wild celebration.
Campbell’s dramatic late goal comes after a similar impact for his country against Russia during this month’s international break.
