‘We were top of the league without Sanchez…we don’t need him’
Here is one to raise the temperatures.
Despite his angry tone which can be a distraction, the Gooner below makes a fair point about how Arsene Wenger managed to say one thing and do the other during last summer.
Following thrashings at Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea where the Gunners picked the ball out of their on own net at least five times, the Arsenal boss vowed to improve the squad’s defensive options in the summer transfer window.
But apart from the addition of Calum Chambers, the best Arsenal could get were more attacking options in Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck.
And the featured Gooner – who later gets involved in the ‘Wenger In/Out’ debate with another fan – insists that the signing of Sanchez has been proved meaningless by Arsenal’s lack of progress defensively.
Do you agree with him?

do I agree with him? No of course not. While we need to sort how we defend and get properly organised sanchez is a bonus who has won many points for us.
I believe that our team has no spine in form of a gd goal keeper, a consistent centre back and central midfielder to suport what sanchez is giving us upfront. wenger knows bt is stil adamant and refuses to adjust to the obvious… very unfortunate!!
Well let’s see what the manager will do this time because believe that every arsenal supporters knows that we need a good holding midfielder and two good defender
And I think we are ok up front the problem we have is defensive midfielder and defenders
The team is able to score goals but CANNOT defend. We therefore need stand alone stone solid defence .
No one can critisize sanchez this season because he took us to chapions leag.
Sanchez would be one of the best buys in the in the Premier League, scores goals, has enormous work rate and enables other Arsenal players to play better.
If Arsenal want to compete with Chelsea, Man City they need to buy top quality players, as a minimum they need a goal keeper, defensive midfield player and at least two defenders.
Some lower placed teams in the Premier League appear to have much better organised defensive systems with generally lesser quality players, why does Arsenals defence appear so brittle?
Arsene Wenger is old enough to leave the clud,an let the person who knw the problem of that team to take over,
I think the post is not to critise sanchez but wenger for failing to solve arsenal defensive problem which was the main reason arsenal did not take EPL. Rather he bought sanchez who can give impact but still not solve arsenal defensive problem.
