Arsene Wenger insists there are no major injury concerns after Saturday’s hard-fought victory over Southampton.
The Arsenal manager is set to switch focus to the Champions League after barely seeing off Claude Puel’s side in a 2-1 win this weekend.
Paris Saint Germain will be Arsenal’s first opponents in the Gunners’ European campaign on Tuesday as Group A kicks of with a mouth-watering fixture.
Despite being troubled by injuries recently, Wenger has good news this time with Kieran Gibbs expected to be back from his lay-off after the return of Alex Iwobi on Saturday.
“I have to decide that [who will start against PSG]. We will see how everyone is tomorrow morning. For Tuesday, we might just have Gibbs coming back, who was not in the squad today.” Wenger said
The Arsenal boss has also hinted of a rest for at least one of his new signings on Tuesday after suggesting that the fitness of Shodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez was tested by Southampton.
“I feel both are short [of fitness] a bit, they lack competition and their second half was much better than their first half.” he added
“They were a bit surprised by the pace and the commitment of the Premier League [but] they will adapt to that. As well, they were a bit on their nerves in the first half. In the second it was much better.”
