Arsene Wenger appears to have changed his mind regarding the addition of a new face in the club’s staff heading into next season.
The Arsenal manager dismissed the idea of appointing a new director of football when asked about the subject recently.
Wenger has usually faced criticism for turning down potential help due to his intent on keeping a controlling role at the club.
However, the Frenchman has now changed his stance regarding the appointment of a director of football, admitting ‘we can need help to become better’.
“Director of football – when I say that – is a guy who makes the decisions that normally are down to the manager,” the Arsenal boss said
“That means selection of players, buying and all matters that concern the functioning of the team on a daily basis.
“Of course we can need help to become better. I am always open to open that. I am always open to things that improve the quality and the future of the club.
“After that, you have to see if it’s really efficient because the titles do not always make you better.”
