Arsene Wenger has revealed the latest on the condition of summer signing Alexandre Lacazette, heading into the final stages of the 2017/18 season.
The Gunners have been troubled by injuries to important players over the past decade.
And this season has not been any different with Arsenal currently sitting outside of the Premier League’s top four.
Alexandre Lacazette, who has struggled on the pitch over the past couple of months, is one of the players currently spending time on the sidelines.
After his forgettable cameo against Tottenham Hotspur which saw him squander a couple of chances in front of goal, the French striker went down with a knee injury.
Initial reports suggested that Lacazette was set to spend at least six weeks out of action but his recovery process is going quicker than expected.
According to Wenger, the good news is that the former Lyon star is “ahead of his planned recovery”, hinting that he could be able to play a part in the Europa League where Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang is ineligible to feature.
“He’s doing well. I think he will be ahead of his planned recovery.” the Arsenal manager said
“It should be four weeks from now, maybe three and a half weeks, so his response has been good.”
