Arsene Wenger has expressed his thoughts on the performance of Rob Holding in Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Manchester United.
The Gunners were looking to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointment which saw them lose 2-0 away at Tottenham Hotspur.
And thanks to goals from Granit Xhaka and Danny Welbeck, Arsenal managed to secure a much-needed victory over Jose Mourinho’s side.
The match saw Rob Holding return to the starting eleven after being dropped to the bench for last week’s trip to White Hart Lane.
And after watching the young defender recover from a major mistake he made in the first half, Wenger has admitted that Holding still has room for improvement.
“He had a nervous start. he looked a bit frozen.” the Arsenal manager said
Even so, Wenger has suggested that Holding, whom he signed from Bolton last summer, is bound to become a success.
“Overall I felt he played within himself. It’s happened a few times – he’s had nervous starts.” he added
“When he gains confidence he plays very well. He has a good future.”
