Wenger finally agrees loan deal for striker

After receiving various enquiries for Wellington Silva, Arsenal have finally agreed to loan out the youngster to Bolton Wanderers.

Despite being allowed to return to his parent club after a loan spell at Almeria last season, the Brazilian striker’s future at Arsenal had been uncertain for much of the summer.

Wellington Silva was recently issued a Spanish passport, enabling him to play in England this season but he will be doing so at Bolton instead of Arsenal even though he attracted interest from a host of clubs, including Real Betis.

The 22-year-old, who was signed by Arsene Wenger in 2010, is yet to make an appearance for the first team even though he played and scored against Manchester United’s reserves during his early days at the club.

Like Carlos Vela a few years ago, Wellington Silva will be making his first appearances as a senior footballer on English soil after spending the past five seasons on loan at a string of clubs in Spain.
