Arsene Wenger has maintained his defiant attitude in regards to the performances his players over the past couple of months.
The Arsenal manager has been linked with a departure at the end of this season due to his team’s below-par recent displays.
Tuesday night saw the Gunners suffer yet another humiliating defeat in the Champions League as Bayern Munich repeated their 5-1 first leg thrashing at the Emirates stadium.
It was Arsenal’s worst ever defeat in the competition and as some fans directed their frustration towards Wenger after the loss, others called for the blame to be directed at the players.
However, the boss insists the performance of his stars in midweek was not enough to believe they have stopped fighting for him.
“I would like to watch the game with you. You will see that the players did not let me down,” Wenger said after the 5-0 win over Lincoln City
“Nor themselves, nor the club. I think we had an outstanding performance as long as we were 11 against 11.”
