Arsene Wenger has responded to reports which are suggesting that he is set to sanction a transfer move for his top scorer from last season.

The Arsenal manager has seen his side struggle to compete in the Premier League this season as they remain outside of the top four.

Many have pointed out that the uncertainty surrounding the future of Alexis Sanchez has played a major part in the Gunners’ below-par season.

Reports all over the media this week have suggested that the Chilean international has been the subject of a £20million offer from Manchester City.

However, when asked about whether he is expecting a City switch for Sanchez, the Arsenal manager remained tight-lipped on the subject.

“I expect nothing, I am focused on tomorrow’s game. When solicitations happen you respond, at the moment it’s very quiet,” Wenger said.

Alexis Sanchez was left out of the Arsenal squad which lost 4-2 against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
