Arsene Wenger has finally addressed reports which are claiming there is a deal in place to let go of one of the team’s highly-rated stars.
The Arsenal manager watched his side continue their roller-coaster season on Thursday as they lost 1-0 away to Cologne only days after the victory over Tottenham.
Another issue which has proven to be concerning for Wenger apart from the Gunners’ results has been the uncertain future of key midfielder Mesut Ozil.
Recent reports have even claimed the 29-year-old has agreed terms with Barcelona over a transfer to the Camp Nou.
However, when asked about those rumours, Wenger maintained they are not meant to be taken seriously.
“No.” the Arsenal manager responded when asked if he knew Ozil would be heading to Barcelona.
“What kind of control can I have over that [speculation]? All these people have agents who can talk to anybody. That doesn’t disturb people, that happens all through their career.”
