Arsene Wenger has identified a new target to bolster his midfield according to emerging reports from the British media.
The Frenchman is now expected to remain at the Emirates stadium even though strong protests have called for him to step down at the end of this season.
With the future of Mesut Ozil still uncertain while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain continues to be linked to Liverpool, there is likely to be a new addition in the midfield area this summer.
According to the Mirror, Wenger has now moved into the race to sign AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar whom the club has identified as a top midfield target this summer.
The 21-year-old has been in inspiring form this season, helping the Ligue 1 side reach the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in over a decade.
Wenger is believed to be a big admirer of Lemar, who is likely to cost a transfer fee in the region of $32.2 million (£25 million).
