Arsene Wenger has admitted that he will employ last Sunday’s tactics again when the Gunners take on Bayern Munich later this month.
Arsenal are facing a decisive pair of home and way clashes with the German champions in a bid to avoid an early exit from the Champions League after losing their opening two fixtures.
Despite suggestions that bowing out of the competition could help any Premier League aspirations, Wenger is aiming to remain in Europe’s elite club competition after the winter break.
With no points earned after playing Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiacos, the Gunners will have to get off the mark in back-to-back meetings with Bayern Munich.
Pep Guardiola’s men may be firing on all cylinders at the moment, but Wenger insists that his side will attack Bayern from the start like they did in the 3-0 win over Manchester United.
“First of all, [how to beat Bayern is] by doing exactly what we have done against Manchester United, playing at a huge pace and by playing with the same belief and by not letting them dictate the game” Wenger told BEIN Sports
“Bayern likes to have the ball, they like to get you back and so we have to win the ball well and be very well-organised and to use our opportunities to go forward with the maximum pace.”
The Gunners will host Bayern at the Emirates stadium on October 20 before a daunting trip to the Allianz Arena on Novermber 4.
