Arsene Wenger has given his thoughts on how Gabriel played during Arsenal’s 2-1 loss to Everton on Tuesday.
The Brazilian defender was handed his third consecutive start in the Premier League as he replaced the injured Shkodran Mustafi at the back.
Since moving to Arsenal in January 2015, Gabriel has struggled to cement a place in Wenger’s first eleven following a string of inconsistent displays.

However, Wenger does not agree with those who have blamed the second string centre-back for the result at Everton.
“No. I think Gabriel did well. I don’t think it is Gabriel’s fault on the corners.” the Frenchman said after Tuesday’s match
According to the Arsenal boss, Everton’s opening goal which saw Seamus Corner find the net with a free header was certainly not down to any error from Gabriel.
“Not on the first goal, the responsibility is somewhere else.” he added
