The Gunners have been linked with a massive move for one of the most promising forwards in Europe at the moment.
Since the addition of Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez in the summer of 2014, Arsene Wenger has only secured the signing of one forward in the past two years.
However, Lucas Perez, who joined the club from Deprotivo la Coruna last summer, has been sparingly used by the Arsenal manager.
And with the future of top scorer Alexis Sanchez still uncertain as he stalls on the decision to renew his contract which expires in less than 18 months, Wenger is now pursuing a new forward
Thus, the Gunners boss has expressed his interest in signing highly-rated Atletico Madrid star Yannick Ferreira Carrasco.
The 23-year-old has a huge $102.4 million (£85 million) release clause in his contract, but according to a report by Spanish outlet AS, Arsenal are willing to compete with fellow suitors Chelsea and Manchester United for the acquisition of the Belgium international.
Wenger is well aware of Carrasco’s ability after watching him score against Arsenal in the Champions League as AS Monaco won 3-1 at the Emirates stadium in spring 2015.
The forward’s high price tag would have been considered to be a stumbling block for Arsenal in the past but the Gunners have shown they are ready to spend big after recently making a £56 million offer for Andrea Belotti which was rejected by Torino.
