Arsene Wenger has spoken on Alexis Sanchez’s chances of being handed a start in this weekend’s Premier League clash with West Brom.
The Chilean international has been in sensational form for Arsenal this season, scoring 21 goals in all competitions so far.
However, with Sanchez yet to sign an extension to his contract which will expire in just over a year, the forward has been linked with a departure.
The 28-year-old’s future at the club was put into further doubt two weeks ago when he was dropped from the starting line-up for the trip to Liverpool.
A rumoured training ground bust-up between Sanchez and a couple of his teammates was later claimed to be the reason why he was surprisingly withdrawn from the team.
And when asked about whether Sanchez would be named in a league game’s staring eleven for the first time since the 2-0 win over Hull City, Wenger admitted that was likely.
“I haven’t picked the team yet but he has a chance [to start], yes. Of course.” the Arsenal manager said during Thursday’s press-conference
