Arsene Wenger has revealed the involvement of Theo Walcott and Laurent Koscielny on Saturday will be a last-minute decision.

Walcott has been sidelined by a calf injury he suffered more than a month ago during the 3-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in the League cup.

Koscielny was one of several injury concerns for Wenger against Norwich last Sunday after the centre-back hobbled off with a hip problem early on.

The duo were declared fit to train with the first team squad this week. But ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Sunderland, the Arsenal manager insists Koscielny and Walcott will not be declared fit to play just yet.

“We will make a decision on Saturday on Koscielny and Walcott, they could both make the squad. Gibbs is available again for the weekend.”

The Gunners are dealing with a depleted squad again after another season of injury woes, but Wenger is choosing not to complain.

“It’s a great challenge to take for the team and a great opportunity to show that we are ready for a fight” he added.
