Arsene Wenger has revealed a majority of the players who will be named in his starting eleven on Tuesday night.

Arsenal will be looking to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the League Cup when they welcome Reading to the Emirates stadium after an impressive unbeaten run.

The competition has often been an opportunity for Wenger to rest some of his first team stars while handing fringe players and promising youngsters a chance to show their potential.

Therefore, the likes of Mesut Ozil, Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez are guaranteed to be left out the 18-man squad which hosts Jaap Stam’s side.

According to the Arsenal manager, Tuesday’s starting line-up will look very similar to the one which featured in the 4-0 victory over Nottingham Forest last month.

The only major change will be at right-back where a fit-again Carl Jenkinson is expected to replace Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

“It will be a similar squad to against Nottingham Forest. We will have Gabriel, Holding, Jenkinson will be back and will play.” Wenger said

“Jeff Reine-Adelaide will play, otherwise I think Iwobi, Lucas, Oxlade-Chamberlain will also play. Gibbs – who captained the team at Forest – will do it again on Tuesday.”
