Arsene Wenger has revealed that the club is currently working on the signing of “two more players”.
The Gunners have began what many expect to be a busy transfer window with the signing of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Mönchengladbach in a £30 million deal last month.
After the apparent collapse of the deal for Jamie Vardy, fans have expressed concerns over Arsenal potentially settling for just one signing as they did with Petr Cech last summer.
However, Wenger has promised to unveil at least two new players at the club before transfer deadline day on Wednesday, August 31.
“We have already bought one player – Granit Xhaka – from Monchengladbach, because wehave lost three players. We have lost [Mikel] Arteta, we’ve lost [Tomas] Rosicky and [Mathieu] Flamini.” the Frenchman said
“So we have bought one midfielder and we are still in the market to buy one or two more players.”
Even so, the Arsenal manager has maintained that adding a high amount of new signings to his squad remains unlikely.
“But it is not easy. It is not just buying. We also have to keep a good balance. If you buy too many players you destabilise your team. So three is the maximum.”
