Arsene Wenger has picked out the Arsenal player who really caught his eye in the 3-0 victory in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Last Saturday’s result against Tottenham Hotspur put the Gunners’ hopes of finishing in the top four of the Premier League this season in danger as they remain sixth in the table.

Therefore, winning the Europa League had to be deemed as Arsenal’s best chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season.

And on Thursday night, Henrikh Mkhitaryan was in action as Arsenal managed to secure a 3-0 win in the first leg of the round of 32 clash.

The Armenian star racked a couple of assists once again as the Gunners returned to winning ways and it appears that his performance left quite an impression on Wenger.

“He has worked very hard and it was a positive performance.” the Arsenal manager said after the game on Thursday night

“He adapts slowly to the team and overall he had a positive game tonight.”
