Arsene Wenger has revealed why Theo Walcott was omitted from the squad which faced Chelsea on Saturday.
The Gunners wrapped up their pre-season tour of Australia and China with a friendly match against the Premier League champions.
Missing from the Arsenal squad which played Chelsea at the Bird’s Nest stadium was Theo Walcott.
And Wenger has revealed that the England international was left out of the game because he is still struggling with illness.
“Theo is not ready, but it’s nothing major,” the Arsenal manager said.
Goals from Willian and Michy Batshuayi, who scored a brace, saw Antonio Conte’s men secure a 3-0 victory.
