Wenger admits deal for Debuchy is ‘still possible’
The Arsenal manager has once again admitted that there could be one more deal on the cards before the transfer window closes.
Cohen Bramall has been the only new signing so far this month but Arsene Wenger has been busier when it comes to offloading players with several youngsters sent out on loan.
One man believed to be seeking more than a loan move away from Arsenal is Mathieu Debuchy who has relentlessly made it clear that his wish is to leave the club on permanent basis.
However, the former Newcastle defender, who joined Arsenal in a €14.2 million move two years ago, is yet to attract any suitors.
Even so, Wenger insists the club has not given up on selling Debuchy before the January transfer window comes to a conclusion.
“It’s still possible, yes [the transfer]. He’s completely fit now and is back in full training.” Wenger said ahead of the Premier League clash with Watford.
Should Debuchy successfully complete his departure, the Frenchman’s biggest contribution in an Arsenal shirt will remain the brave header he scored in the 2-2 draw at Anfield in 2014.
