Arsene Wenger has admitted he will soon be working on a deal to retain the services of one of his useful first team stars.
Arsenal look set for a busy summer with new acquisitions seemingly required after this season’s collapse while several key players only have a year remaining on their contracts.
Jack Wilshere is one of the stars in need of a contract renewal amid reports that he could secure a permanent move elsewhere.
Thus, Wenger has confirmed that the 25-year-old, who will miss the rest of the season at Bournemouth due to injury, will soon begin talks with Arsenal over a new contract.
“This injury has nothing to do with the extension of Jack’s contract,” Wenger said, as quoted by Sky Sports
“I don’t know, we haven’t entered into any negotiations.
“I think for all these cases where there is only one year to go, we will enter into negotiations during the break.”
