Arsene Wenger has given an update on his attempt to secure the future of Arsenal’s best player so far this season.
The Gunners are currently sitting outside the top four of the Premier League after a disappointing run of form which began with the 2-1 home defeat against Watford in January.
However, one man who has not been struggling at all this season is Alexis Sanchez, the team’s top scorer with 22 goals in all competitions.
The Chile international, who moved to the Emirates stadium from Barcelona in a £35m deal back in 2014, has dominated the headlines in recent weeks following reports of a training ground bust-up and his refusal to accept Arsenal’s offer of a new contract.
According to Wenger, the club has decided to postpone negotiations with Sanchez since no agreement has been reached.
“At the moment we have not got an agreement,” the Arsenal managed said, as quoted by BBC
“It is the same situation with Ozil, because once you don’t find an agreement and the negotiation lasts, it is not good.
“It is better you get it out and sit down in the summer.”
