The former Gunners’ striker has recently been involved in Arsenal matters again after joining the club for a temporal period to maintain his fitness while his MLS side New York Red Bulls are off duty.

During that time, Henry has been recognized for his services at Arsenal after a statue of him was carved and placed outside the Emirates Stadium.

That has sprung rumours that with Arsenal in need of a capable back-up to Robin van Persie in attack, the Gunners are willing to welcome back their all-time top goal scorer for a loan spell in January.

Even Alex Song moved earlier today to talk up the possibility of Henry rejoining his old club, but at the moment, Arsene Wenger is not having any of it.

“No, nothing has happened since last week.” Wenger said. “I expect nothing at the moment, just to calm down!”

“There is no story and if we sign anybody we will inform you,” he added

“I am 15 years in England and I never told before I signed somebody the name of who I would sign. If we sign anybody we will inform you, I cannot tell you much more.”
