Wenger speaks on rumoured ‘mistake’
Arsene Wenger has once again hit back at critics who have questioned his transfer activity over the past two windows.
The Gunners have secured the signing of only two players since the start of last summer with neither of them being the highly-demanded goalscorer.
Following a slump in form which has seen his side drop from first to fourth on the table after failing to score in three straight Premier League games, Wenger’s lack of spending has been pointed out again.
But the Frenchman insists the impressive form of his attacking players during the first half of the season should serve as proof that he was right.
“You cannot praise the quality of our strikers and on the other hand say that it is a mistake that we have not bought any strikers.” Wenger said
The Arsenal manager is intent on sticking to his transfer policy considering the fact that the new Premier League favourites are Leicester – a side not known for spending big.
“You reproach me about not buying big names but [for the title] you will support the team who have no big names.” he added
“Leicester are a fantastic example that football is not only about just spending the money”
Thats ok if your happy not to win the league in your entire historyMr Wenger.
