Wenger finally speaks on reported big-money transfer of £35m star

Arsene Wenger has responded to reports claiming that he is set to give the greenlight to a deal which will see him lose the services of last season’s top scorer.
Wenger saw his side suffer their first defeat of this summer’s pre-season tour as Chelsea won 3-0 on Saturday.
The friendly at the Bird’s Nest stadium in China came after reports which were suggesting that Alexis Sanchez was close to a big-money move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal’s top scorer from last season, who joined the club from Barcelona for £35 million in 2014, is yet to renew his contract at the Emirates stadium.
And when asked whether Sanchez was really nearing a transfer move to Paris, Wenger played down those rumours.
“It’s only media imagination.” the Arsenal manager said
The Frenchman also insisted that just because PSG are not a domestic rival does not mean he will sell Sanchez to them.
“No, it doesn’t make any difference [if it’s a foreign club that wants to sign him].” he said
The Chile international, who scored 30 goals in all competitions last season, is believed to have attracted the interest of Manchester City as well.
