Wenger spots England problems similar to Arsenal’s
In Arsene Wenger’s latest video blog for Eurosport, the Frenchman spoke about the World Cup hopes of the country he makes a living in.
According to Wenger, England has its worries – which in truth, are very similar to concerns about his own Arsenal squad.
Lack of depth in strikers and uncertainty over a first-choice goalkeeper are the sort of flaws Arsene found about Capello’s side.
Arsenal’s boss was speaking before England’s 1-1 draw with USA on Saturday – a match which perhaps justified the points Wenger made in the video below.
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cV_lgP72ZvM]But isn’t it interesting how he spots it for the three lions and not the Gunners?
erm i think you’ll find he has! He’s said on a numerous amount of occasions that our defence is the issue. Given more detail is tactical and transfer suicide. If everyone knows he’s looking for only a keeper it means prices go up. I prefer the club to keep its card close to its chest rather than payin overflated transfer fee’s ala man city
Randy, what does buying Chamakh mean – Striker depth? Maybe am mistaken. What does Wenger publicly saying that he will buy defensive reinforcements mean? It means that we have bid for Koscielny and Shwarzer and are probably talking to more agents of defensive players. Think what you have said over because you write blog and Arsenal fans value your informed opinion.
With RVP’s fitness never a guarantee and the lack of contribution from Eduardo and Vela (evn though not his fault) Arsenal still have a cincerve in striker depth.
And “depth” doesn’t necessarily mean amount of back-up players but amount of Capable back-up players. I’m sure Wenger knew England has four ready strikers to chose from when said they lack depth in attack. His point was that unlike France, Rooney is really the only capable striker England has.
And isn’t that similar to Arsenal where Bendtner, RVP and Eduardo all gave fitness problems leaving Chamakh as the only near-proven striker to choose?
Also, Wenger said England din’t have a sure choice if who their No. 1 is. Now is that different from Arsenal where everyone is so confident in Almunia? Or is it?
Oh, Wenger the spotter! BY A KEEPER! NOT GREEN!
Mr Wegner 0Its DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE……I am sure you know that but, DO SPMETHING. There is still lotsof time but don’t leave toolate as you have sometimes in the past.New players need good preseason with the team.
Please stop…
It’s been said that, Arsene has finally said that, Cesc is not for sale and is under contract. Of course everybody knows that, but this is coming from The Boss himself! Also, that he spoke to players prior to the World Cup but never about their future. So, I assume that, Cesc never requested to leave to Barca.
I think if we aquire a few players before preseason we can win many things next year and prob hold on to, Cesc a lil longer more.
Cheers all!
