Arsene Wenger has acknowledged the fact that he has been given new options in attack following the flurry of goals on Saturday.
Arsenal continued their impressive unbeaten run in all competitions with another victory this weekend as Sunderland were thrashed at the Stadium of Light.
The 4-1 win saw Olivier Giroud score a double after coming off the bench while Alexis Sanchez produced his own contribution with two goals as well.
Giroud’s goal-scoring return from injury has handed Wenger another option for the centre-forward role which has belonged to Sanchez for much of this season so far.
When asked about how he will now use the duo in his team, the Arsenal boss admitted that a classic formation was possible.
“He [Sanchez] is doing extremely well and I believe that he enjoys it [playing as a striker].” Wenger said
“But we can as well play 4-4-2 with two through the middle as well, because Mesut can play in behind or on the flank. I will see. Let’s not create problems that we don’t have at the moment.”
