Gunners confirm new injury
Arsene Wenger has confirmed that another player has been added to the injury list ahead of this weekend’s trip to Sunderland.
Kieran Gibbs was ommitted from the 18-man squad which welcomed West Bromwich Albion to the Emirates stadium on Thursday night after spending much of the season on the bench despite being fit.
Following the 2-0 win over Tony Pulis men, Arsene Wenger revealed that the left-back was absent because of a “short term” injury he had suffered.
“[He had] a back problem. It looks short term. He had a training session today.” the Gunners manager said
Gibbs is one of the Arsenal players who have been linked with a departure this summer after being kept on the bench by Nacho Monreal over the past 18 months.
