After being troubled by a couple of injuries over the past week, Arsene Wenger has revealed there is some good news for his side ahead of this weekend’s Premier League fixture.
Arsenal extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 13 games after a comfortable 2-0 victory over Reading in the League Cup on Tuesday.
Up next is a trip to Sunderland in the Premier League where their winning streak was brought to an end last Saturday in a 0-0 draw against Middlesbrough.
The absence of certain players who could have made a difference proved costly last week but Wenger has revealed that may not be the case this weekend with two important stars set to be named in the 18-man squad which travels to the Stadium of Light.
“We have Giroud back available and Aaron Ramsey will be in the squad. We are [almost] in November, they have not played so it’s good to have them back.” Wenger said on Friday
“They are available for selection. I have to be a bit cautious, especially with Aaron Ramsey, because he has not played at all yet. He has only had one week with the team so I will be a bit cautious with him.”
Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud are back but the likes of Per Mertesacker and Danny Welbeck still have a few months left on the sidelines.
