Real Betis and Arsenal have entered talks over a season-long loan deal for Wellington Silva.

Like Carlos Vela a few years ago, the 22-year-old returned to London this summer after spending the past five seasons on loan at a string of clubs in Spain.

Wellington Silva has finally been issued a Spanish passport which will allow him to play in England next season but the Gunners are still intent on loaning him out for more experience again.

According to Estadio Deportivo, the Brazilian and Arsenal’s representatives are set to meet with Real Betis to discuss terms over a season-long loan deal with no option to buy.!/image/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/landscape_630/image.jpg

Silva trained with the first team this summer but was excluded from the pre-season tour

The winger, who was signed by Arsene Wenger in 2010, is yet to make an appearance for the first team even though he played and scored against Manchester United’s reserves during his early days at the club.

Wellington Silva joins Joel Campbell as Arsenal’s Latin American prospects who have an uncertain future in north London.

During his stint at Almeria last season, the youngster was dubbed as the ‘new Neymar’ by fans in Spain.
