Arsenal are set to complete the formalities of a new contract for Nacho Monreal and Mesut Ozil.
The duo have been in impressive form over the past 12 months, helping the Gunners secure back-to-back FA Cup titles in May.
Arsenal began talks with Nacho Monreal’s representatives from Bahía Internacional over a contract extension during the summer after the left-back attracted two failed bids from Athletic Bilbao.
Mesut Ozil, who has registered the most assists in the Premier League in 2015, has also been offered a new deal at the club after returning from injury in rejuvenated form in the spring.
The German’s current contract expires in 2018 but Arsenal have proposed a new deal which would make Ozil the highest-paid player at Arsenal.
An agreement has reportedly been reached between Monreal and the club but talks are still on-going with Ozil’s agent Dr Erkut Sogut.
Following the departures of Robin van Persie and Bacary Sagna after contract disputes, the Gunners have made changes to club policy regarding players who are entering the final two years of their contract.
Theo Walcott and Santi Cazorla recently signed new deals ahead of claims that Alexis Sanchez has also been offered an extension.
