Arsene Wenger has responded to calls for Mesut Ozil to be rested after an injury scare during the international break.
The former Real Madrid star is yet to register one of his trademark assists this season but he has managed to score two goals so far.
Ozil was replaced by Iker Gundogan after only 45 minutes of action on Tuesday as Germany secured a 2-0 victory over Northern Ireland in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The 27-year-old later played down any fears of an injury on Twitter while some fans called for Arsenal to hand him a rest to avoid a possible injury.
However, Wenger insists that Ozil, who has started five league games in a row, will not be named on the bench against Swansea City due to fitness concerns.
“He told us he’s completely fit.” the Arsenal manager said
“We’ll see that today, if we have no bad news today. I see him later. I expect him to be available, especially because he’s only played one half, so he doesn’t need to be rested on Saturday.”
