Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has given an update on the fitness of Danny Welbeck following Saturday’s disappointing defeat away at Watford.
After a dramatic turn around from the home side late in the second half, the Gunners suffered their first defeat since the 4-0 humiliation against Liverpool on Saturday.
And that was not the only loss for Wenger as Danny Welbeck limped off with another problem in his first game back after his last injury lay-off.
According to the Arsenal manager, the 26-year-old appears to have sustained another muscular problem which could keep him out of action yet again.
“It looks to be a hamstring with Welbeck,” Wenger said.
“I don’t really know because everybody is shocked in the dressing room [about the result]. It looks a muscular problem.”
Welbeck rarely succumbed to injuries during his time at Manchester United but he is yet to see out a full campaign ever since his move to Arsenal in the summer of 2014.
