Wenger’s statement on whether there will be another new Arsenal signing
Arsene Wenger has revealed his intentions regarding another new signing before the summer transfer window closes.
The Arsenal manager has so far managed to secure the services of the likes of Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette.
But with the transfer window not shut just yet, several fans are understandably calling for more new acquisitions before it is too late.
When asked about the prospect of adding another player to the squad, Wenger admitted that he is ‘open’ to signing someone if he is of unique quality.
“We are open to an exceptional player.” the Arsenal manager said
“However, just to remind you we have 33 players and they are all good players.
“That’s unmanageable so to bring one more player in for the sake of it would be stupid, but if we find an exceptional one, we will do it.”
Apart from getting rid of Yaya Sanogo and Wojciech Szczesny thus far, Wenger has been unable to clear out most of his fringe players.
The likes of Carl Jenkinson, Mathieu Debuchy, Gabriel and Kieran Gibbs are all still on the Gunners’ books despite being linked with departures.
