Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil took to social media to send out a subtle message suggesting his approval of the new era at the club after the sacking of Unai Emery on Friday.

The former Germany international and Real Madrid star was handed a lucrative new contract towards the end of Arsene Wenger’s reign at the club.

Following the arrival of Unai Emery in May last year, many fans had high hopes for the playmaker as the Gunners looked to secure a return to the Champions League.

However, Ozil did not enjoy much playing time under the Spaniard who often decided to leave him out on the sidelines.

On Friday, Arsenal announced that Emery had been sacked, a decision which brings an end to Ozil’s rough relationship with the boss.

Upon hearing about the news, the midfielder took to social media to subtly share a picture of himself and interim coach Freddie Ljungberg, while adding supporting hashtags.

Ozil is yet to send out any public acknowledgement to his now former manager Emery.
