Former Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has taken to social media to react to the news of Arsene Wenger’s imminent departure.
The Gunners came into this campaign with uncertainty surrounding the future of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who had refused to sign a new contract at the club.
Following a couple of weeks of speculation, the England international was granted his wish as he completed a move to Liverpool during the final moments of the summer transfer window.
Less than a year after Oxlade-Chamberlain’s exit, it was announced on Friday that Arsene Wenger would also be saying goodbye to Arsenal after this season is over.
The Frenchman is set to leave the club he joined in 1996, and after two decades in north London, he has received tributes from various players – past and present – following the announcement.
Upon hearing about the imminent departure of Wenger, who signed him from Southampton in 2011, Oxlade-Chamberlain also expressed his gratitude towards his former manager.
