The Gunnners’ record signing from the summer is taking a while to register his first goal for the club as he settles into his new surroundings and that has prompted mixed reviews from the fans on social media.
The Ivory Coast international agreed to complete a move to the Emirates stadium from Lille as he became the most expensive player in the history of the club.
Considering the fact that Nicolas Pepe was a player on the radar of virtially all of the big clubs around Europe, expectations have been very high for him in north London.
The former Ligue 1 star is yet to score a goal for his new club and considering the Gunners’ erratic form so far this season, that scoreless start to life in the red and white shirt has been far from ideal.
Against Frankfurt, Pepe made sure he grabbed a couple of assists as Arsenal opened their Europa League campaign with a 3-0 win in Germany.
And here are the mixed conclusions from Arsenal fans about the expensive summer signing as of Thursday…
Do feel that nicolas pepe is not going to cut it at arsenal hes not showing the 72 mill that we payed for him i could be wrong but good result for arsenal coyg

Shout out to Nicolas Pépé, while still waiting to score his first Arsenal goal he unselfishly tee'd up Saka after doing most of the hard work for that goal.

Bukayo Saka has performed better than both Reiss Nelson & Nicolas Pepe so far this season in that one game alone! He deserves to keep his place in the matchday squad imo. Criminal if he’s completely dropped!!!

I’ll say it once and I’ll say it again, Nicolas Pepe grabbed his second assist for Arsenal but nobody will tell you this.

Wish I could mute all the Pepe BS. The negativity is so boring. He's a top player that'll be brilliant for us. But oh it might take a couple of months so rival fans getting a tingle in their pants at thought of us buying a dud. Jealousy I suspect. Bit of patience, superb player.

Are you honestly telling me you haven’t been slightly disappointed by what you’ve seen from Pepe?
More than happy to give him time but I ain’t gonna pretend that I didn’t expect a little more from him.
