Granit Xhaka has revealed that he is hoping to complete the transfer to his new club before the start of this summer’s Euro 2016 tournament.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a move to the Emirates stadium for the past three months after an impressive season in the Bundesliga.
Xhaka, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s captain, has reportedly held talks with Arsenal who have made a £35million offer to sign him.
The Switzerland international has admitted he is unlikely to remain in Germany and wants his imminent switch to London announced before he flies out to France with his national team next month.
“I would be happy if everything [about the move to England] is resolved before the European Championship.” he said
“It will be better for me if I go into such a big tournament with no worries in my mind.”
