24-year-old star wants to agree £200,000-a-week deal with Arsenal

The Gunners appear to have received a new ultimatum from one of the players who is currently being linked with a departure.

Arsene Wenger is getting his side ready for a stern test against Liverpool on Sunday but what is dominating the headlines is more speculation about supposedly want-away players.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has only one year left on his contract, has been linked with a move to Chelsea who recently made a £35 million offer to sign him.

However, the 24-year-old seems to be keen on remaining at the Emirates stadium as long as his monetary wishes are met.

According to the Daily Star, Oxlade-Chamberlain has told the Gunners the amount he wants to be paid after rejecting a new contract worth £150,000-a-week.

The report is claiming that the England international is rather asking for a pay rise in the region of £200,000-a-week in order to commit his future to the club.

After being troubled by injuries for several years, Oxlade-Chamberlain was finally handed a string of regular starts for the first team last season and he has now become one of Wenger’s most-used players.
